Aloha friends,
Last week wasn’t really exciting. We had Monday off, but you already knew that.
Baba came over on Thursday, because mom needed to stay at school until late.
Daddy came home Friday night instead of Saturday so that was nice. He spent a lot of time gardening this weekend. He also finished building my make-up table, so I painted that on Saturday and now I can do my make-up in my room instead of doing it in the bathroom.
Mom and I went shopping (again) for sweats and tennis shoes for me, because I’m going to start jogging. I really need to work on my physical condition again. It is getting really bad now that I don’t cycle anymore and quit dancing.
Saturday night I had the house to myself. Well, Roux was there too. The rest of the family went to have dinner at friends, but I wanted to stay home.
On Sunday I finally went driving again. In the beginning it went terrible to be honest, but when Daddy told me to pull to the side to have a talk, I got my act together and after that it went well.
Note for Kim: I quit driving all the way to the right! Hahaha. So daddy didn’t have the feeling anymore that I was trying to drive of the cliffs.
Daddy and I went to Grandpa Chuck’s grave; I think that is going to become our thing to do when I have to go for a drive with daddy.
After driving a while daddy took over, because we were going to do some groceries at the Commissary. I love that store. It’s so big! I think we had spent more than an hour there before we had everything. I helped Daddy shop for a new wallet and a nice shirt.
The rest of the day wasn’t too busy. We started to make varenyky and we'll finish it tonight. If you don’t know what varenyky is, it is a Ukrainian dish. It’s dough with a filling in it. Everybody makes it differently; we make it with a smash potato filling. It is really good with cream and jam on it, hmmm.
At the end of the day the Academy Awards had begun. I couldn’t believe all the beautiful dresses and only a week ago I saw them getting the red carpet ready. I do disagree with that the best picture Oscar went to the Artist. I thought we lived in the 21st century. I thought we had passed the silenced films. I do love silenced movies, don’t get me wrong. I just expected that it would’ve gone to a movie that was more present.
While I’m typing this post my (Dutch) family and most of my friends are skiing or snowboarding at this exact moment. I’m really jealous, I was looking forward to go skiing or snowboarding again. Oh well, it was my decision to move over here.
Love, Crysta.
Me wearing my new skirt. Is it still to grandma?
