Hello there,
Again, I’m sorry for not posting anything the last two weeks. I couldn’t get anything on paper. Personally, I think that is one of the most annoying things; Knowing what you want to say, but not having a clue what word to put with the other.
I’m going to try to make it up to you.
From the 27th of February until the 2nd of March it was spirit week at school. It was so much fun to be a part of it. I’ll first explain what spirit week is, because we don’t have it in the Netherlands. Spirit week is a week that the students and teachers dress-up. Everyday has a theme:
Monday: Pajama day
Tuesday: Funny clothes day
Wednesday: Costume day
Thursday: Fancy day
Friday: Sports day
Most kids went over the top with their outfits. There were kids who wore one piece pajama’s on Monday. There were kids who wore more then 20 colored outfits on Tuesday. On Wednesday there was a student who had made a deadmau5 head and was walking around with it. Thursday girls came in their most beautiful dress and boys were wearing there nice clothes. Friday was really chill, students were wearing T-shirts of their favorite football teams or were wearing their own team outfit. Mom and I also took part in this. The only day we didn’t take part was Monday, because we had forgotten spirit week had started. I think the favorite outfit that I wore was on costume day. I was dressed in traditional Ukraine clothing.
It’s almost spring break! I’m going to disappoint you, because I’ll not be going to Mexico. Hahaha. I’ll be going to South Carolina to Nene and Popo (my grandparents). I’ll leave next week on Thursday and will stay there for ten days. I’m so excited! The last time I saw them was in the summer of 2010 when we went up to Michigan. So it’s about time to see them again, hihi.
There is another reason why I stopped blogging the first week: “The hunger games”. Everybody was telling me that I really had to read the trilogy. I’m glad I did. I couldn’t put the book down. I read the whole day and after 6 days I had finished it. I can’t wait to see the movie, It will be in theaters on Friday. Collins is a great writer. The only thing I did not like about the books was the last 50 pages of the “Mockingjay”. I love the idea how she wanted to end the trilogy, but I totally disagree how she wrote it. I’m sorry. During all the books she writes everything clearly as if you are part of the story and at the end she shortens everything. I personally thought that it was a waste, but you really need to make up your own mind about it. So start reading it. Haha.
My weekends haven’t been spectacular. Most of the time I’m just chilling at home. Josh and I did go to ocean beach (O.B.). We had so much fun. We first went to the beach and of course Josh got wet within 10 minutes. After that we got some ice cream. Well, Josh did. I wasn’t in the mood for a weird kind of flavor ice cream. I really miss the Italian ice cream store back in Rotterdam. When josh finished his ice cream we went shopping! Well, not really shopping. We went in a couple of shell stores where I found a cute bag and I got some weird toy for Josh. When we finally came to the clothing store I really wanted to go to Joshua’s pants were starting to bug him because of the salt and sand. So we went home, without the cute dress and shoes I saw. I’ll be going back this weekend by the way, hahaha.
Last weekend I was really lazy. The only active thing I did was going to Target to get some nail polish. I was having a solo Harry Potter marathon. I had forgotten how great the movies were. Did you ever notice, that how closer you get to the last movie the darker the movies get. The first one is full of colors and everybody is happy and you see these great things. For example: A chocolate frog that actually jumps away, a unicorn etc. and in the last one you see people die and dark magical stuff no more sweet cute things. Roos really wants me to read the books, so I’ll start reading them after I finished “the girl with the dragon tattoo”.
Besides all this, Daddy is gone again. He’ll be coming home this weekend. I have to cook tonight for me and Josh. I’ll be making a breakfast dinner: waffles. pancakes, fruit, orange juice etc. I think Josh will like that.
